PCOS or Pill Causes Obnoxious Side effects

So I am about two weeks through starting the birth control pills (BC) that my OB/GYN put me on. The nausea is finally calming down. BC is one of the main things used to treat PCOS because it regulates the menstrual cycle and reduces the level of androgens in the system. It also makes your body think it is pregnant so you get “morning sickness” sometimes as a side effect, fun. Needless to say jumping up and down, swinging things around and generally moving is not fun when you feel nauseous.

It is also rather ironic that I am taking pills to decrease my androgen levels when so many other weight lifting folks inject them on purpose. It is apparently common for women with PCOS that lift to bulk up a bit more then women normally do at first because of the higher levels of testosterone their body is producing, but then because they lose weight from working out their testosterone productions levels drop back to more normal levels for women and they lean down.

So now that my “morning sickness” has calmed down I am headed to the gym to start figureing out a workout schedule I can stick with.
