I started this blog to help me keep track of my workouts, my progress, and what I learn as I go along in this journey towards a healthy and stronger self.
This wasn’t supposed to be a weight loss blog but due to my PCOS, weight loss has become a must to control my symptoms. However, I believe very firmly in health at every size. Other health complications aside, by working out and eating well the body will find its own size, it may or may not be smaller then the size it is now but the benefits of eating well and being physically active can’t be argued with.
While I do have to track that number on the scale I am trying not to be fixated on it and also track how many reps I can do, the weights that I am using, how I feel, changes in clothing size, the appearance (I hope) of muscles I haven’t seen in a while. As I more clearly define my goals I will update this page.
I named this blog Strenua after the minor Roman goddess of strength and vigor because it reflected my main misson in starting it. I also wanted a strong female image that I could aspire to, what better then a goddess?
